PENANG Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow will be visiting the family of Deputy Chief Minister II Jagdeep Singh Deo to check on his health condition.
Chow stated that he has been receiving occasional updates on Jagdeep’s health from his family.
“I have been informed that he is now in recovery and continues to receive medical attention from his doctors.
“Regarding his leave, which is about to end on Aug 5, I will be meeting with his family tomorrow (Aug 2).
“I have also reported the situation to the Penang executive council members during our meeting yesterday (July 31).
“If an extension of his leave is necessary, I hope the request letter can be sent soon so we can approve his continued treatment until the doctors determine he is fit to resume his duties,” he replied to a question from a journalist at Komtar today.
Chow added: “When I met with YB Jagdeep before he started his leave, I assured him that if he needed an extension, we would consider it and grant approval so he can undergo treatment and recover quickly.”
Jagdeep was granted 11 days of leave from July 22 to Aug 5 for the treatment of his left foot.
