DIGITAL technology specialist Ng Kwang Ming has been appointed as the new chief executive officer (CEO) of Digital Penang effective Jan 16, 2023.
In a statement, Digital Penang said Ng will replace Tony Yeoh as the CEO following his return to retirement.
“Ng brings an interesting mix of extensive experience in the software, IT services and technology sectors.
“He has worked for leading technology multinationals, including IBM Malaysia and Motorola, as well as Mimos Berhad, Malaysia’s national Applied Research and Development Centre under the Ministry of Science, Technology And Innovation (Mosti).
“The board directors also express their heartfelt thanks to the outgoing CEO Tony Yeoh and extend their warmest welcome to the new CEO Ng Kwang Ming,” the statement read.
Digital Penang is a government-linked company owned by the Penang government, which began operations in April 2020 to accelerate efforts to capture opportunities in the digital economy and promote a digitally engaged society.
