FRENCH ambassador Frederic Laplanche paid a courtesy call on the Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow this afternoon.
“We are extremely happy to be in Penang and it is a pleasure to meet the honourable Chief Minister again,” Laplanche, who was with his embassy’s Co-operation and Cultural Affairs counsellor Roland Husson, said in Komtar today.
They discussed issues pertaining to Le French Festival 2019, Penang’s infrastructure development, growth of services, manufacturing sector and investments.
Laplanche said the Le French Festival 2019 hoped to involve the Malaysian society through the locals’ vitality and also reach even a wider audience by engaging young people in particular. The festival will be held in Penang from April 25 to May 5.
“Events such as French Film Festival, gastronomy and lifestyle programmes will be held during the Le French Festival 2019 in Penang.
“Le French Festival also invites Malaysians to enjoy the French way of life, thanks to numerous food available,” he added.
