SEVERAL outlets and individuals are gearing up to honour and bring joy to all mothers during internationally observed Mother’s Day on May 12.
From special buffet lunches to discounted clothing items, these places are dedicated to making Mother’s Day memorable for families everywhere.
During a random survey conducted by Buletin Mutiara, it was discovered that Thenn Nadu, a textile and tailoring shop at Market Street, is offering cotton sarees at discounted prices, specifically for mothers.
Its owner, Sakkirathevan Veerakumar, 29, shared that they launched the initiative out of respect and love for mothers.
“Mothers are priceless individuals, so we have decided to offer these cotton sarees at affordable prices as a token of our appreciation and gratitude.
“Apart from that, my wife just became a mother, and we would like to extend our sincere wishes to all mothers,” he added.
According to Sakkirathevan, the offer launched at the end of April will be available for one month. The shop is open every day from 10 am to 9 pm.
Jayam Fusion Cusine, manager K. Ramesh Kumar said a special buffet lunch will be served to celebrate Mother’s Day on May 12.
“This buffet lunch offers 15 varieties, including a welcome drink, starter, main course, and dessert, all for just RM25.
“The buffet will also include a complimentary dessert for all mothers.
“I am sure many mothers will appreciate the opportunity to enjoy a delicious treat and spend quality time with their loved ones,” Ramesh told Buletin Mutiara.
Other than that, mothers also deserve to be pampered. As such, Chandnis Beauty House is offering a diamond facial for RM150 and mothers will receive complimentary roses along with eyebrow threading.
Chandnis Beauty House owner Chandramalar Subramaniam hoped that children would take the opportunity to bring their mother for a relaxing experience.
The promotion, which commenced last Sunday, will run until May 12th.

Fulltime student Khumaira Fauzi, 23, who runs a bouquet arrangement business, shared about the orders received in conjunction with the upcoming Mother’s Day.
“So far, I have received five orders for Mother’s Day. Typically, customers place their orders a day or two before the occasion.
“The type of arrangement varies based on the customer’s request; some prefer bouquets, chocolates, or even arrangements with banknotes, with prices starting as low as RM40.
“I do not offer packages or promotions, but I do provide the opportunity for customers to choose or set a budget for us to create a customised arrangement,” he said.
Khumaira, who is studying at Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), said since she operates her business online without a physical store, orders are made through WhatsApp.
“I ensure that everything is completed within the promised time.
“However, if I receive numerous orders, then I will create a pre-order system to streamline material sourcing,” she said.
Muhammad Nazril Aiman Mohd Ferdus, 23, plans to have dinner with his family to celebrate Mother’s Day alongside his beloved mother, Sabariah Ibrahim, 52.
“My siblings and I want to bring mom and dad for a scrumptious meal and present gifts as a sign of appreciation.
“I am very grateful to have my mom as my ‘mother’, her sacrifices and emotional strength serve as my motivation to succeed in life.
“I want to thank my mother for all the love she has given me as well as for her unwavering support,” said Nazril.
For Yasmin Hani Yusrizal, 23, she believes there is no specific day to appreciate her mother.
“Every year, our family celebrates Mother’s Day without fail, cherishing it as a special day to spend more time with our mother.
“One memorable experience with my mother was when we spent two days camping together last year.
“We shared many stories during that time, which helped me understand her better even now,” said Yasmin.
In addition, it is learned that The Light Hotel is also offering a Mother’s Day buffet lunch from 12 noon to 2.30pm, priced at RM128 per person for adults and RM72 per person for senior citizens and children.
