AGE is not a barrier for anyone to achieve their dreams, especially in conquering Mount Kinabalu in Sabah, Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said.

He said he was made to understand that 20 participants from the Stay Fit Sunnah Sports Club Penang would embark on an adventurous mission to Mount Kinabalu on Sept 4.

“The mission, known as ‘Project Possible Kinabalu Stayfitsunnah’, gathers individuals of all ages and backgrounds to achieve the goal.

“The youngest participant is Ahmed Irfan Ali Ahmed Faisal, who is 14-years-old, while the oldest is 53-years-old Mohamed Basir Haha Mydin.

“I hope the participants will prioritise their safety in this mission. This adventurous mission is led by the Stay Fit Sunnah Sports Club Penang founder Ahmed Faisal Mohd Lazim, who is no stranger to extreme activities,” said Chow in his speech before handing over a flag to Stay Fit Sunnah Sports Club Penang in Komtar today.

Chow advised those joining the event to cultivate confidence.

“I wish you all the success. Inspire those with similar interests to achieve their goals,” he added.

Ahmed Faisal thanked Chow for his encouragement to the team.

“We have been preparing ourselves before the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the plan was halted. We hope to bring home success after coming a long way.

“We also thank the state for assisting in realising this project,” he said.

Among the attendees were Komtar assemblyman Teh Lai Heng and Chow’s political secretary Lau Keng Ee.
