THE Johor voters should not lose hope in the political situation in the country, says Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow.

Chow, who is also the state Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman, said what matters most is that they must carry out their responsibility to cast their votes in the upcoming Johor election.

“I know they are hoping for a better government, one with almost zero corruption, efficient, progressive and forward-thinking.

“But all of that didn’t materialise after some political hiccups over the past two years caused by certain politicians who initiated the ‘Sheraton Move’ that has disrupted the stability and development of our beloved country.

“I know many of them are disappointed with this. But, this is just a temporary setback.

“The political struggle, however, must continue because we know that politics is a long-term struggle to achieve the objective of transforming and bringing change to the country.

“And all of that can start with the Johor election.

“This upcoming state election is crucial as the people of Johor will cast their votes to choose the state government for the next five years.

“This will also determine their future in the next five years.

“Thus, I hope they will come out and vote for their political party during the polling day. No matter which side you are, just vote,” said Chow when asked about the Johor election at Chowrasta Market after distributing flowers to women traders and market-goers today.

Polling day for the Johor polls is on March 12 and early voting on March 8.
