DOUBLETREE Resort by Hilton Penang has established itself as a major force in the hospitality and tourism industry, welcoming over 100,000 guests since it was set up last year.
Describing it as a remarkable figure, Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow lauded the resort for its contribution to the tourism industry.
Chow said the resort helped to position the state as a major destination on the global tourist map.
“I congratulate both Cornerstone Partners Group and DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Penang on the first anniversary of the resort.
“We can expect more joyous anniversaries in future,” said Chow during his speech after attending the hotel’s one-year anniversary in Batu Ferringhi today.
He pointed out that the resort had also provided job opportunities and trainings for over 200 Malaysians in the workforce since its opening.
DoubleTree Resort by Hilton has become one of the iconic places of interest in Batu Ferringhi.
Hilton Malaysia regional general manager Jamie Mead said that the resort guests had enjoyed the multiple award winning facilities, including the 350sq m landscaped outdoor pool.
State Tourism Development, Arts, Culture and Heritage Committee chairman Yeoh Soon Hin also congratulated DoubleTree Resort by Hilton and Cornerstone Partners in his speech.
