TO show appreciation for the contributions of local authorities, the Air Itam service centre organised a durian festival at the Paya Terubong Fire Station on Wednesday (July 3).
Air Itam assemblyman Joseph Ng, who attended the event, said the durian festival was a way to express deep gratitude to firefighters and other frontliners for their service to the community.
“We have police personnel, Penang Island City Council (MBPP) staff, and media friends here as well.
“This is our way of showing gratitude for their sacrifices,” he said.
A total of 170 durians were served during the festival.
