THE Penang government is lending its support to the upcoming early childhood education online conference by WhyteHouse Education Group, SEGi University and Colleges, and Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Council Malaysia.
State Social Development and Non-Islamic Religious Affairs Committee chairman Chong Eng said the conference would be held virtually from Aug 13 to 20.
“The theme for the SEGi-WhyteHouse Early Years International Conference is ‘Nurturing Holistic Well-being in Early Childhood’.
“The state government is aware of the importance of children’s well-being.
“We are pleased to support and sponsor this conference which is in line with the Penang2030 vision,” she said at a press conference in Komtar today.
Chong Eng was proud to work with WhyteHouse Education Group, SEGi University and Colleges, and Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Council Malaysia for the virtual conference.
“The conference is targeted at academic scientists, scholars, and researchers. Parents and students are welcome to join as well.
“I understand that former deputy minister for Women, Family and Community Development Hannah Yeoh will be one of the guest speakers invited on Aug 20,” she said.
WhyteHouse Education Group Sdn Bhd co-founder Jery Yeoh emphasised the importance of early education for children.
“Speakers of schools from over the globe will be featured in the virtual session.
“A panel discussion comprises various stakeholders will be held too,” he said.
The conference will be streamed live on the SEGi and WhyteHouse Facebook channels.
