THE Star Education Fair, which is one of the pioneer education exhibitions in the country, is back this year with its 35th edition and is currently taking place at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, who officiated the event today, praised the Star Media Group for successfully organising the fair for more than 30 years.

“I applaud the Star Media Group for its longstanding commitment to education, from exposing the children to quality educational material at an early age to publishing a dedicated education segment in The Star.

“Today’s exhibition is a manifestation of great effort in creating a comprehensive, one-stop education centre for educational needs.

“With access to a wide range of local and international tertiary education programmes, youths are presented with the available diverse pathways.

“This gives them the valuable opportunity to explore and break new boundaries while forging their own path,” said Chow during his speech at the event.

The two-day event (June 4 & 5) is held from 11am to 7pm.

Chow also hoped that people would recognise the value of higher education and its role in helping the youth fulfil their highest potential.

“I am pleased that the Star Education Fair encourages partnerships not only between educational institutions but also among parents, private sectors and the community at large.

“With our ongoing support and education as a springboard, I hope to see more of today’s young talent and future leaders strive to build genuine, constructive relationships with one another along their life journey.

“We are looking forward to Star Education Fair’s continued success and the group organising more of such activities for the benefits of our youth, state and nation,” Chow added.

Meanwhile, Star Media Group chief business officer Lydia Wang said more than 40 local and international educational institutions are participating in the event.

“We hope the exhibition will help students make informed decisions before taking the next step in their journey, pave the way for young leaders to build a bright future for themselves and build a stronger and better community.

“It is also important to remember that the goal for the students is not only to attain academic excellence but also learn civic-mindedness, be innovative as well as pick up critical soft skills,” Wang said.
