THE Penang government will be monitoring the development of policies and programmes that will be implemented to realise the Penang2030 vision.
Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow (PH – Padang Kota) said each strategic initiative would be led by a ‘champion exco (executive councillor)’ and a ‘champion officer’.
The Penang2030 has four themes and 16 strategic initiatives.
“Engagement sessions involving state executive council members, MPs, state assemblymen, state and Federal department heads, district offices, stakeholders, government officers Grade 29 and above and Village Community Management Council (MPKK) have been held.
“The sessions were held to explain the direction of the Penang2030 vision. Those who took part in the engagement sessions will be the medium to disseminate information on Penang2030 to the Penangites,” Chow replied to an oral question by Khaliq Mehtab Mohd Ishaq (PH – Bertam) during the State Legislative Assembly in Dewan Sri Pinang today.
Chow said 16 workshops to address each strategic initiative were currently being held.
“The workshops are scheduled to conclude by the end of December this year.
“The input received from the workshops will be translated into programmes, projects or policies that will be implemented to realise the Penang2030 vision,” Chow said.
He said that activities and exhibitions would also be held for the public to have a better understanding of the Penang2030 vision.
