IT is common for business startups to meet with challenges and struggles, Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said.

“However, these challenges can be overcome with initiatives and programmes by the Government and other relevant organisations.

“Events such as (entrepreneurship) talks, activities and expos such as the Business Startup Expo here today play a significant role in keeping the entrepreneurs abreast of the latest business development.

“We (the Penang government) understand the challenges faced by our local entrepreneurs; and the need to assist them.

“As such, the state and investPenang initiated the Small and Medium Enterprises Market Advisory Resources and Training (SMART) centre to provide market intelligence, business advisory, information, resources and training services to the local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Penang,” Chow said in his speech before opening the Business Startup Expo in Prangin Mall today.
