IN a move to give people to showcase their talents and at the same time entertain others, a “Talent Corner @ PKS” was launched on Oct 10 in Karpal Singh Drive.

“Tonight we are gathered here to witness the historical officiating of ‘Talent Corner @ PKS’. I say historical because I believe this is the first time an event like this is organised by a KADUN in Penang if not whole of Malaysia.” Sungai Pinang assemblymember Lim Siew Khim said in her speech while officiating the event.

Those who came that night were entertained by several opening acts such as the Chinese drums performance, street dance and a very unique spinning lightshow performance.

Traditional singing, local traditional dances, acrobatic performances, clowns, story-telling, drawing, magic shows and others are set to be on show here.

All those interested must first register at the Sungai Pinang Service Centre and go through an interview before being allowed to perform at Karpal Singh Drive.

In addition to the officiating of Talent Corner, free lanterns were given out by the organisers to celebrate the Lantern Festival.
