Family receives aid from rep after house damaged by storm

THE family of eight, whose house was partially damaged by a storm last December, was grateful after its plight was answered by Bukit Gelugor MP Ramkarpal Singh.

Ramkarpal contributed RM12,389 from his parliamentary allocation to bear the cost of repairing the roof and awning, as well as the replacement of the staircase handrail at the exterior part of the house.

“The plight was brought to my attention by the Relau Village Community Management Council (MPKK).

“We have helped to replace the handrail of the staircase (exterior), repaired the awning and the kitchen roof.

“The repair works have been completed and I was informed that they were done in a day,” Ramkarpal said during his visit to house in Jalan Kampung Botak in Relau today.

Paya Terubong assemblyman Yeoh Soon Hin, who was also present, reaffirmed the state government’s commitment in assisting the people and ensuring that their well-being is taken care of.

Meanwhile, one of the family members, Hasmizan Osman, thanked Ramkarpal and Yeoh for their swift assistance.
