MAINLANDERS can have fun and take amazing photos of the jaw-dropping animal topiaries at the ‘Animal Kingdom in the City’ exhibition from April 9 to 21 at the Dataran Pemuda Merdeka.
This is one of the initiatives by the state government under its newly-launched programme, ‘Penang Arts Week 2019,’ to promote arts in the state.
The exhibition, one of the 15 programmes held in conjunction with Penang Arts Week 2019, is attracting both locals and tourists. Quite a number came as a family.
Buletin Mutiara team spoke to some of the visitors for their views on the exhibition. Below are their opinions.

“If possible, create a recreational park in Butterworth with a concept of these animals topiaries since there are not many places here to relax with families except by the seaside.”
Khairina Faizal, 10, student from SK Bagan Jermal
“This is something constructive and can instil the appreciation for arts and nature.
“I am really fascinated by the animal sculptures over here.

“It is a kind of joy to look at the animal topiaries. They appear to more environment friendly.
“When there’s an exhibition like this, we have a chance to bring our family out for some quality time. The kids are having fun too.
“If you can increase the size of the animal topiaries, they would be amazing for sure.
“The children will love them.”
Zarina Mohd Saleh, 55, housewife
