Festive cheer for students from Jelutong parliamentary constituency

WITH Hari Raya Aidilfitri just around the corner, the Jelutong parliamentary constituency has brought cheer to a total of 30 school students via its ‘Jom Beli Baju Raya’ programme.

Jelutong MP RSN Rayer said that the programme included primary and secondary students from each of its three state constituencies, namely Sungai Pinang, Datuk Keramat, and Batu Lancang.

“We have allocated RM100 for each student to spend on their shopping. If there is a need to top up the amount, we will do so.

“As we are upholding the ‘Malaysia Madani’ concept now, the allocation given to all the MPs by our prime minister should be used to ease the burdens of our people.

“After two years of struggling with the Covid-19 pandemic, we can now feel the spirit of Hari Raya festivity which can now be celebrated much merrier this year,” Rayer said during the event at Mydin Supermarket in Penang Road yesterday.

He also thanked the Mydin Supermarket for supporting the programme.

Rayer, together with Sungai Pinang assemblyman Lim Siew Khim and Batu Lancang assemblyman Ong Ah Teong, accompanied the students for their Hari Raya shopping at Mydin Supermarket.

Later, the students together with their parents were also treated to a scrumptious ‘Buka Puasa’ event.

Apart from that, Rayer said the Jelutong parliamentary constituency had also organised various activities at the respective constituencies during this Ramadan month.
