THE ambience at the Air Putih Chinese New Year open house was full of life and energy.
Guests from all walks of life thronged the open house which was held at the parking area near the foot of Penang Hill this evening.
Air Putih assemblyman Lim Guan Eng, who was the guest of honour, spoke about the significance of the open house.
“I am indeed happy to see everyone here. Regardless of race or belief, people come together to celebrate this occasion,” he said.
Lim hoped the Year of the Rabbit would bring prosperity and hope.
“Penang is a liveable city and is recognised worldwide for its food.
“The state is also famous for its arts, culture and harmonious living environment,” he said.
Guests at the open house were treated to a scrumptious buffet spread.
Those present also enjoyed various performances, namely, the traditional dance, lion dance, and dancing and singing performances.
Among those present were Bukit Bendera MP Syerleena Abd Rashid, Tanjung Bungah assemblyman Zairil Khir Johari, Pulau Tikus assemblyman Chris Lee, Air Itam assemblyman Joseph Ng and former Bukit Bendera MP Wong Hon Wai.
