Financial aid for community associations

FOUR community associations under the Air Putih constituency received a financial assistance totalling RM33,000 today.

 

The four associations are Pertubuhan Perayaan Yu Lan Sheng Hui Kawasan Choong Nam, Persatuan Perayaan Phor Thor Taman Air Itam Pulau Pinang, Pertubuhan Perayaan Phor Thor Pekan Air Itam and Pertubuhan Perayaan Phor Thor Bukit Bendera & Hye Keat Estate.

 

A brief mock cheque presentation ceremony was held at Dewan MPKK Bukit Bendera today.

 

The representatives of the four associations present during the cheque presentation ceremony were Ooi Kean Hin (Pertubuhan Perayaan Yu Lan Sheng Hui Kawasan Choong Nam), Loke Huat Kim (Persatuan Perayaan Phor Thor Taman Air Itam Pulau Pinang), Ooi Thean Huat (Pertubuhan Perayaan Phor Thor Pekan Air Itam) and Chew Eng Hye (Pertubuhan Perayaan Phor Thor Bukit Bendera & Hye Keat Estate).

 

Air Putih assemblyman Lim Guan Eng said the financial aid to the four associations is to support their activities and programmes in the constituency.

“Pertubuhan Perayaan Yu Lan Sheng Hui Kawasan Choong Nam received RM25,000 allocation, Persatuan Perayaan Phor Thor Taman Air Itam Pulau Pinang (RM2,000), Pertubuhan Perayaan Phor Thor Pekan Air Itam (RM3,000) and Pertubuhan Perayaan Phor Thor Bukit Bendera & Hye Keat Estate (RM3,000),” he said.

 

Also present was Bukit Bendera MP Syerleena Abdul Rashid.

 

On a separate matter, Lim informed that the clock tower near Hye Keat Estate in Air Putih, which is one of the oldest clock towers in Penang, is now fully functional.

He had previously followed up with the Penang Water Supply Corporation (PBAPP), the owner of the clock tower, to initiate repairs.
