IN a significant stride towards fostering financial inclusion, Penang-based company FinHero has announced NTT Data Corporation as its stakeholder.
An official signing ceremony to mark the partnership was held at Mercure Penang Beach Hotel in Tanjung Bungah today.
FinHero was represented by its co-founder and chief executive officer Top Lim while NTT Data Corporation was represented by its head of global payments and services division Shinichiro Nishikawa.
The signing ceremony also was witnessed by Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow.
FinHero is a fintech company based in Penang, dedicated to reshaping the future of financing for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Meanwhile, NTT Data is part of NTT Group, a trusted global innovator of IT and business services headquartered in Tokyo. The company helps clients transform through consulting, industry solutions, business process services, IT modernisation and managed services.
Lim said today marks a momentous day for FinHero as the company welcomes NTT Data Corporation as a stakeholder.

Meanwhile, Chow said the strategic partnership between FinHero and NTT Data not only underscores the innovative spirit of Penang but also sets the stage for transformative growth across the region.
“With its cutting-edge financial technology, FinHero is poised to expand its reach throughout Asia, empowered by the extensive networks and resources from NTT Data.
“Accordingly, today’s signing ceremony not only symbolises a momentous alliance but also represents a beacon of hope for the future of Penang’s economic landscape.

Chow added that the partnership is not merely a transaction, it is a testament to the resilience and potential of local companies in the state to soar to greater heights on the global stage.
“It also reaffirms Penang’s standing as a hub of innovation and entrepreneurship, where collaborative efforts pave the way for transformative growth,” he said.
Also present during the signing ceremony were Penang Infrastructure, Transport and Digital Committee chairman Zairil Khir Johari and InvestPenang chief executive officer Datuk Loo Lee Lian.
