The FINTEGRITY Board Game workshop, developed by the Wealth of Life Children (WOLc) Academy, will be one of the highlights at the Georgetown Literary Festival tomorrow (Nov 30).
Designed for children aged 9 to 13, the game teaches financial literacy and character-building through earning, spending, saving, and investing concepts.
“The game allows players to practise good money habits in a fun way while instilling the value of ‘Doing What’s Right.’ The objective is to achieve the ‘Highest Net Worth’ and the most ‘Character/Value’ points,” explained Datin Josephine Yoong, author of Timmy Tapir Learns to Do What’s Right and publisher of Precious Pages.
The workshop will take place in Room 2, Bangunan Wawasan, Gat Lebuh China, George Town, in two slots: 10am–12.30pm and 3pm–5.30pm. Spots are limited. Registration is available at https://tinyurl.com/FintOne for the morning session and https://tinyurl.com/FinTwo for the afternoon session.
Malaysian Squirrel’s latest adventure book
In addition, the latest instalment in the Malaysian Squirrel series, Malaysian Squirrel Mission with Shireburn the Eagle, will be launched during the festival. The event is scheduled for 10.30am to 12.30pm in Room 1, Bangunan Wawasan.
Written by Briton Roger Cowdrey under the pen name August Moon, this fifth book tells the story of an eagle’s global adventures to help other eagles. Like its predecessors, the book combines adventure with an educational focus on helping endangered animals.
The launch will feature a storytelling session by August Moon. Cowdrey shared that the story was inspired by a school visit earlier this year when a young girl suggested a mission about eagles. “Interestingly, a character in the book is named after her as a gesture of gratitude,” he added.
Cowdrey, now in his fifth year in Malaysia under the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme, has also authored ‘The Secret Mission of the Malaysian Squirrel’, ‘The National Park Mission of the Malaysian Squirrel’, ‘The Penang Sea Mission of the Malaysian Squirrel’ and ‘The Mission of the Malaysian Squirrel: To Stop the Taman Negara Feud.’ All books in the series are published by Precious Pages.
With its blend of fun activities and educational content, the festival promises an enriching experience for children and families alike.
