TO equip the Indian community with essential business knowledge, Pertubuhan Dewan Perniagaan Vanigakkalam Malaysia (Penang branch) recently organised an entrepreneurship seminar.
The seminar took place yesterday (July 21) at the Penang Harmony Centre on Scotland Road, with about 60 participants from the Indian community in attendance.
Association chairman Santha Kuppu highlighted that the one-day programme featured speakers from various state and Federal agencies who provided participants with valuable business insights.
“Through this programme, we aim to educate participants on how to start a business, navigate legal procedures, and identify suitable business opportunities.
“We also offer guidelines on the financial assistance and grants available from state and Federal agencies to support business growth,” Santha said.
“This seminar aligns with our mission to foster a thriving business ecosystem among Penang’s Indian entrepreneurs.
“We strive to provide comprehensive resources and networking opportunities to help businesses of all sizes achieve their full potential,” she added.
The event was also attended by Penang Housing and Environment Committee chairman Datuk Seri Sundarajoo Somu and Penang Women’s Development Corporation (PWDC) chief executive officer Datuk Ong Bee Leng.
In his speech, Sundarajoo commended Pertubuhan Dewan Perniagaan Vanigakkalam Malaysia (Penang branch) for its initiative in organising the seminar.
“This is an excellent programme focused on the Indian community. I hope all participants will take full advantage of today’s seminar and apply the lessons learned to their businesses.
“An important lesson in life is that when you help someone succeed in business, you also succeed through their achievements,” he said.
