THE Penang executive council (exco) has agreed to proceed with the Covid-19 mass screening for targeted community groups in all the 40 state constituencies.
Penang Local Government, Housing, Town and Country Planning Committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo said the free mass screening, known as Penang Saring Covid-19 (PSC-19), would be done in two phases.
“The first phase, involving 11 state constituencies, will be held from July 5 to 18; after which Phase Two will begin.
“We will concentrate on the 19 Covid-19 hotspots.
“PSC-19 is scheduled to start on July 5 at the Penang City Stadium, and it will involve four state constituencies.
“Those listed in the targeted community groups are advised to register for the mass screening,” Jagdeep said in a Facebook Live today.
Also present was Deputy State Secretary (Development) Datuk Azhar Arshad.
Registration can be made through the respective state assemblymen’s service centres. Limited to 1,000 screenings per state constituency.
