THE Penang Youth Development Corporation (PYDC) has come up with eight basic skill modules under its Reskilling, Upskilling & New Skilling – PYDC Essential Skills Programme (June 2021 Series) to improve soft skills among youths.
State Youth and Sports Committee chairman Soon Lip Chee said the eight basic skill modules include Self-Coaching; Personal Financial Planning; Innovative and Resilient Mindset; Public Speaking: Essential Ingredient in Personal Development; Develop Amazing Social Skills; Crisis Leadership; Managing Transition Effectively; and Critical Thinking & Effective problem solving.
“The Reskilling, Upskilling & New Skilling – PYDC Essential Skills Programme (June 2021 Series) will take place on June 19, 20, 25, and 26.
“It is open to all youths and is free,” he told a virtual media conference today.
Soon said the programme was important to unleash youths’ abilities and skills.
“The youths need to be equipped with soft skills, and this is an opportunity for them to learn and improve those skills.
“The trainers for the programme are certified by the Human Resource Development Council (HRDC),” he said.
PYDC general manager Dr Gwee Sai Ling said the level of competitiveness at the workplace is high, and youths need to be equipped with all the relevant soft skills.
“We hope to receive about 100 participants for each module,” she said.
Also present at the virtual media conference were PYDC directors A. Kumaresan and Lee Wei Seang, as well as several certified trainers.
The youths can scan the QR code or register via https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf7gTb–VMqIuOcITIjgrLHmd-vl06qNlHlenxuMf5E-wR3NA/viewform to participate in the programme.
The registration will close two days before each module begins.
