FORTY-TWO students from five districts in Penang received Scout uniforms and a pair of black shoes each for free today at SMK Mak Mandin in Butterworth.
State Youth and Sports Committee chairman thanked the Scouts Association of Malaysia Penang for inviting him to attend the Scout Uniform for Free (SUFF) giveaway ceremony.
“This programme not only recycles Penang’s Scout uniforms but also helps Scouts who face financial difficulties to have low-cost uniforms.
“Scouts Association of Malaysia Penang is an active NGO in Penang. Over the years, the association has produced many youths and teenagers who have been very supportive to the Penang community.
“I hope the association can continue such effort in the future as well,” said Soon in his speech.
Today’s programme had also received support from the Pallas company for sponsoring black shoes to the recipients.
