KNOWN for its luxury and award-winning facilities, The Granite Luxury Hotel celebrated its first anniversary this year.
To mark the hotel’s first anniversary, some 80 guests comprising sponsors, industry players, pressmen, and key opinion leaders were brought on a tour of the hotel’s signature Luxury Room and four theme suites – Safari Suite, Diva Suite, Darling Suite, and Presidential Suite.
The Granite Luxury Hotel general manager Moh Wei Ken said the hotel’s journey has been an exciting one.
“It was the sweetest anniversary gift for The Granite Luxury Hotel when it received an email on Sept 6 announcing that it had won in the World Luxury Hotel Awards.
“The hotel was invited to receive the award on Oct 28 at the 17th Annual World Luxury Awards Gala Ceremony at the Grand Hyatt Athens in Greece.
“This news is a wonderful anniversary gift for the hotel,” enthused Wei Ken during the hotel’s first anniversary bash held at The Mirage Pool Deck.
The winner was adjudged through public voting over two weeks, which kicked off on Aug 11, which was coincidentally the eve of Penang’s election.
“While candidates were campaigning for the state election, we were busy preparing for ours. We came up with giant banners hung all over our premises, a social media contest and more to get the votes in.
“From winning awards to unveiling Insta-worthy themed suites, The Granite is humbled by the generous support from all of you.
“We hope that you will continue to walk with us in our journey,” he said in his speech last night. Wei Ken also thanked the industry players, the media, and loyal supporters for their contributions to the hotel’s success story.
The guests were treated to a glitzy fashion show where models strutted the runway while showcasing Bang & Olufsen’s latest products at The Mirage Pool Deck overlooking the iconic Komtar Tower. The fashion show was curated by Bang & Olufsen, which also provides speakers for three suites in The Granite Luxury Hotel.
The hotel constructed a red backdrop and an opulent white platform, slightly raised above the award-winning pool, The Mirage. The pool was endorsed by the Malaysia Book of Records (MBR) as the Highest Cantilevered Acrylic Bottom Swimming Pool last year.
Besides the fashion show, those present were also treated to a sumptuous buffet spread which showcased an East Meets West fusion.
Malaysia’s comedy queen, Joanne Kam, had the crowd in stitches with her funny antics, especially during the quiz and games sessions.
A lucky draw with room stay prizes worth a whopping RM20,000 was also held to enliven the mood. The grand prize was a night at the Presidential Suite worth nearly RM10,000.
Rebranded from M Summit 191, The Granite Luxury Hotel had recently won the International Hotel Awards in Dubai in June this year.
Last year, MBR also endorsed another facility of The Granite’s as the Tallest Automated Hotel Car Park.
The hotel is built and managed by property developer M Summit Group.
