From Bollywood to Penang, melody king Udit Narayan live in concert this November

BOLLYWOOD playback singer Udit Narayan, renowned for his contributions to Bollywood and other languages, including Tamil, Bengali, Telugu, and Kanada, will be performing live in Penang on Nov 28 at Setia SPICE Arena.

 

He has been the magical voice for many iconic Bollywood stars, such as Shah Rukh Khan, Amir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, and many others.

 

Over the past three decades, Udit has sung more than 25,000 in over 36 languages, earning him 22.3 million listeners on Spotify and an array of awards in several categories.

 

The concert is a joint effort by Filloz International Malaysia and LR Asia.

 

Udit’s rise to fame began in the 1980s with the song ‘Papa Kehte Hain’, when he went on to earn his first Filmfare Award.

 

He further cemented his status in Bollywood with his performance on the soundtrack of ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’, leading to massive sales and widespread acclaim.

Popularly known for melody songs, Udit has collaborated with many singers in the past but his link-up with specific singers, including Alka Yagnik, Lata Mangeshkar, and Kumar Sanu, has etched a special place in the hearts of his fans.

 

Among the popular films include Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Dil To Pagal Hai, Mohabbatein, Kaho Naa Pyar Hai, and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.

 

Udit continued to be a favourite voice for music directors and actors alike, collaborating with legendary musicians such as Anu Malik, Jatin Lalit, A. R. Rahman, Rajesh Roshan, and Shankar Mahadevan.

 

His voice has graced the films of renowned directors Yash Chopra, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and Karan Johar. With 21 of his tracks featured in BBC’s Top 40 Bollywood Soundtracks of All Time, Udit is celebrated as the King of Melody.
