Admin

ONE of the most vibrant festivals in Penang is almost here and Penangites are greeted with a picturesque view of the lantern display at Armenian Park.

The upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival is an important event for the Chinese community as it symbolises reunion and joy.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow accompanied by his political secretary Teh Lai Heng lighted up the Armenian Park in Lebuh Acheh during the Pesta Tanglung Tanjong, this evening to mark the start of the joyous festival.

Visitors can now enjoy the majestic view for a month from today.

To add joy to the festival, various multicultural performances will be held from 5pm to 11pm on Sept 7 at the basketball court near the park.

Apart from the performances, there will be also interactive games such as riddles, traditional games, lantern-making workshops, mooncake-making lessons and others.

Visitors are free to join in the lantern parade at 7.45pm.
