SOME 3,000 participants are expected to join Tech Dome Penang’s Glow-Walk which will go hybrid for the first time this year.
The virtual Glo-Walk will take place from June 25 to July 29, whereas the physical walk will be held on July 30 at the Penang Municipal Park, formerly known as Youth Park. The flag-off of the 5km walk will be at 7pm.
Deputy Chief Minister II Prof Dr P. Ramasamy, who is also the Penang Tech Centre Berhad chairman, encouraged the public to take part in the walk as it is organised to raise fund to initiate more STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) activities.
“I encourage everyone to join in the walk which will be a good platform to spend quality time with family and friends.
“I also would like thank the organising team as well as the sponsors.
“They include Penang Island City Council (MBPP), Greatech Technology, Kok Construction, VAT Manufacturing Malaysia, First Solar and Smart Modular, Mcdonalds Malaysia, Easy Parcel, Emico and Lee Sportswear International Sdn Bhd,” he said during a press conference today.
The Glo-Walk 7.0 is themed ‘Light Up The Night 2022’. All participants will receive a dri-fit shirt and medal. Those who have completed the walk will be entitled to a certificate and lucky draw as well.
Also present was Penang Tech Centre Berhad chief executive officer Khoo Boo Wooi.
The closing date for registration is on May 31 or when the participant limit reaches 3,000. Participants can register online via Howei and Ticket2U.
