REHDA (Real Estate & Housing Developers’ Association Penang) announced good news for Penangites concerning housing.
“SST has been exempted where housing is concerned and in relation to this, I would like to announce here that we will discuss with our members (developers) to reduce the prices for our housing projects.
“A ten percent reduction for housing projects priced above RM300,000.
“And a six percent reduction for RM300,000 affordable housing projects,” Penang REHDA chairman Datuk Toh Chin Leong said during a press conference held at the Setia Spice Convention Centre today.
Finance Minster Lim Guan Eng who was also present during the press conference welcomed the move made by Penang REHDA.
“On behalf of the Finance Ministry, I welcome this move made by REHDA in response to the SST exemption and hope this can be applied throughout the country.
“It is a positive start with regards to housing.
“This shows that REHDA is a very responsible corporate body,” added Lim.
