FOLLOWING the brouhaha over the rejected 10As SPM students, Air Putih assemblyman Lim Guan Eng will strive to assist the students from Chung Ling High School and Penang Chinese Girls’ High School in securing matriculation offers by the end of next month.

Speaking to reporters at his service centre in Air Putih, Lim said he would meet with the students at 4pm tomorrow (July 13) following their concerns over the matter.

“At the very least, I hope they can air their grievances and concerns across the meeting tomorrow. As a lawmaker, I will strive to assist them.

“Despite the assurances given by our Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, and the Education Ministry, many students are still uneasy. Hence, I hope the meeting will alleviate their concerns,” he said during a press conference.

Lim, who is also Bagan MP, lauded the Education Ministry for their efforts in assisting the students.

“If there are still students who are left out, they can come forward to my service centre to seek assistance.

“In previous years, many students could not be shortlisted, but thanks to the efforts by the government, the students can now be relieved,” he said.

Lim also thanked the Federal Government for its initiative in ensuring the matriculation offers.
