ALL religious and faith communities have a vital role to play in creating a harmonious society in Penang.
State Social Development, Welfare and Non-Religious Committee chairman Lim Siew Khim said Penangites, regardless of their religious backgrounds, play a pivotal role in making a significant change within the state.
“We can build a more inclusive, peaceful and harmonious society for all.
“It brings me a great joy to witness everyone attending the Naw-Ruz celebration regardless of different faiths,” she said during the event at Penang Harmony Centre in Scotland Road yesterday.
Lim expressed her gratitude to Harmonico and the Baha’i community for their collaboration in celebrating Naw-Ruz.
“Naw-Rúz is more than just the beginning of a new year. It is a time of spiritual renewal and growth, a chance to refresh ourselves like springtime,” she said.
During the event, the attendees were entertained with performances.
