NON-GOVERNMENTAL organisation (NGO) Buddhist Tzu-Chi Merits Society Malaysia in Penang continues to offer its help to flatten the Covid-19 infection curve.
The society contributed 100 pieces of isolation gowns, 200 nursing caps, 200 shoe covers, 1,000 gloves, 200 surgical masks and 500 face shields to the Seberang Perai Prison in Jawi on Oct 19.
Earlier on Oct 16, Tzu-Chi donated 150 multipurpose foldable beds, 3,000 pieces of isolation gowns, 5,000 face masks and 5,000 gloves to the Penang Prison. Today (Oct 20), the society presented 409 blankets to the same prison.
Its commissioner Khoo Boo Leong said the society would do whatever it could to support the prison authorities.
“It is timely for everyone to support them. We need to contain the Covid-19 in the prisons and prevent it from spreading to more people,” Khoo said.
