THE Penang Factories Badminton Team Master Open Championship 2023 has returned for the fourth time with a huge number of 674 players taking part this year.
State Youth, Sports and Health Committee chairman Daniel Gooi said the one-week tournament, which started yesterday (Oct 9) and runs until Oct 15, features 31 men’s teams, 19 women’s teams, and 75 individual pairs.
He said this remarkable turnout was impressive given their passion for badminton.
“My heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors for their unwavering support to this event. They are redONE, along with co-sponsors BCN Technology, Visiol World, Project, Buona Fortuna, One Will, CRC, Taipex, Fitline, Gosen TRS, and CPS Badminton Academy.
“Your belief in the positive impact of sports and commitment to our community’s growth are truly commendable,” he said when officiating the Penang Factories Badminton Team Master Open Championships 2023 at Relau Sports Complex last night.
The championship will take place at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) on Oct 14 and 15.
Gooi recognised the pivotal role of the Penang Badminton Association (PBA) as the official sanctioning body for this tournament.
“This tournament helps us to foster a healthy lifestyle,” he added.
Among those present was Penang State Sports Council director Harry Chai.
