THE second series of the Home Ownership Campaign (HOC 2019) MAPEX Penang 2019 is currently being held from April 12 to 14 at SP Arena, Seberang Perai, to address the issue of property overhanging and to increase home ownership among Malaysians.
HOC 2019 is organised by Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association (Rehda) Penang and endorsed by the state government.
The event is showcasing over 20 developers and more than 3,000 units of properties worth over RM3 billion to be sold at discounted prices.
Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, who was present to officiate the HOC 2019 today, said that the HOC is a smart partnership campaign between the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Housing and Local Government and Rehda.
“Buyers during HOC can enjoy the benefits such as stamp duty exemption for residential units through incentives which include a minimum of 10% discount for all properties and extra special packages by individual property developers.
“For foreign purchasers in Penang, the state government has acceded to Rehda Penang’s request to extend the waiver of the 3% approval fee imposed on foreigners.
“Penang state government will continue to maintain our control over pricing for affordable housing units at RM42,000 each for low-cost, RM72,500 for low medium-cost and RM300,000 (maximum) for affordable housing on the island and RM250,000 (maximum) in Seberang Perai.
“This HOC is indeed an opportunity for prospective buyers to own quality homes at greatly discounted prices,” said Chow in his speech.
Among the property developers participating in the expo are IJM Land, JKP Sdn Bhd, OSK Property, Mah Sing, Asas Dunia Bhd, New Bob Group, Paramount Property, Airmas Group, Oriental Max Group of Companies, and Setia Fontaines Sdn Bhd.
