REGARDING the proposed Komtar-Bayan Lepas Light Rail Transit (LRT) project which was submitted in March 2016 by the state government to the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD), Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow will be heading to Putrajaya on Sept 18 for a briefing session with the latter.

“I will be meeting the Transport Minister this coming Tuesday and also the SPAD to receive briefing from them regarding our submission.

“I hope that SPAD will be able to give explanation pertaining to the project as it has been two years plus since we sent our proposal.

“Other than the two meetings held in 2016 which I attended one of those together with the former SPAD chairman Tan Sri Syed Hamid Albar, there were no communication from the commission after that,” said Chow at a press conference today.

A team from the state government will be joining the Chief Minister as well as for the meet up.

“So, I am very eager to know what they have done with our submission after two years plus and hopefully SPAD will be able to share with us their concern on this project.

“Our team from the state government will also be there to justify why the state government opt for the LRT.

“I hope after the meeting, we will have more things to share with the media,” said Chow.
