HEADQUARTERS Integrated Area Defence System (Butterworth Airbase) deputy commander Brigadier General Tong Veng Leong paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow at the latter’s office in Komtar today.
Tong congratulated Chow on his new role as the Penang Chief Minister, who responded that it was a huge responsibility and honour to serve the state.
During their 30-minute light-hearted conversation, they touched on several issues pertaining to air force procurement planning, air force operations, air bases, progress of the Penang Transport Master Plan (PTMP) and the proposed Kulim International Airport.
“I would pay a visit to Butterworth air base if there is any event or activity take place there,” Chow said.
Before ending his visit, Tong conveyed his gratitude to the state government for providing endless support to the Penang people and presented a token of appreciation to Chow.
