FOR the first time, the Penang Island City Council (MBPP) has come up with lucky draw cash prizes for rent payers of council premises who settle their payments for the month of November and December this year, including the arrears.
MBPP councillor Wong Yuee Harng said a total of RM17,000 has been set aside for the lucky draw.
Out of the RM17,000, the first prize is RM800 while the second, third and fourth prizes are RM500, RM400 and RM300 respectively. There will be 150 consolation prizes worth RM100 each.
“We want to encourage the payers to settle their payment through JomPay. In fact, there won’t be any hidden charges, as the council will absorb them from our end.
“This is our first time having such a campaign for the rent payers in a commercial complex and public housing. Previously, we only introduced a similar campaign to the assessment taxpayers, but this time it is open to the council’s premises rent payers.
“We hope they will take this opportunity to settle their payment to be entitled to the attractive lucky draw cash prizes,” he said at a press conference in Komtar.
