THE day-long Inspiring Future Leaders Conference, which was held at the G-Hotel today, saw the participation of some 400 participants who included prominent speakers from Penang as well as abroad.
During the concluding dinner, Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said he hoped that the conference would have brought about fruitful sharing and learning among the participants.
“I applaud the distinguished speakers of the Inspiring Future Leaders Conference for your willingness to share your knowledge and experiences as well as to inspire our future leaders.
“I hope the networking done throughout the day and also now at the dinner will bring about business opportunities for the Penang Women Chamber of Commerce (PWCC) members.
“I also believe that among the esteemed participants, there were investors and after listening to those inspiring speeches at the conference, they will be interested to come back and invest in Penang,” said Chow in his speech at the dinner held in G-Hotel.
The Chief Minister also stated that leadership skill is something that gets sharpened with age and with the ability to rise above challenges without giving in to stress or mental strain easily.
“The ultimate test for any leader when faced with setbacks is to be able to effectively assess the overall scenario with an insight into the possible solutions and their consequences.
“Given the right ‘ingredients’ for one to mature in terms of his or her leadership skills, aspiring leaders will not only be inspired but will achieve greatness in whatever they do,” added Chow.
Organising chairman Datuk Annie Chin, who is also the PWCC president, said that exco member for Women and Family Development, Gender Inclusiveness and Non-Islamic Religious Affairs cum PWCC adviser Chong Eng is an exemplary leader and their pillar of strength.
