Beginning as a small trademark registration firm three decades ago in George Town, founders Solomon Lee and Joanne Loh have transformed Intellect Group into a comprehensive service provider, encompassing patents, copyrights, industrial designs, and more.

“You have empowered countless business owners to secure their Intellectual Property portfolios thus safeguarding their brands, designs, products or inventions, and navigating the complex world of intellectual property.

“Today, we are not just celebrating an anniversary; we are acknowledging a milestone that reflects the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurial drive, that harmonises seamlessly with the aspirations of the Penang2030 vision.

“Intellect’s presence has played an integral role in advancing Penang’s digital landscape, a fundamental element of our Penang2030 initiative.

“The Penang government recognises the importance of the digital economy and has integrated it into our state Budget and manifesto,” Chow said at the anniversary dinner celebration.

Chow praises Intellect Group for empowering countless business owners to secure their intellectual property portfolios.

To propel digital entrepreneurship, initiatives like the Creative Digital District (CD2) play a central role in Phase II of the Penang2030 vision.

Spanning 113 acres, CD2 serves as a hub for digital finance, education, renowned cuisine and cultural sites, attracting prominent companies like BlueSkies, Angkasa-X and Security Metrics.

Chow emphasised Intellect Group’s pivotal role in supporting SMEs and startups by securing trademarks and enhancing brand credibility. Its digital services have significantly contributed to local business growth, particularly in digital marketing, online services, and e-commerce, empowering businesses to excel on social media platforms and adapt to emerging technologies.

Asked how they could maintain a strong business partnership by organising chairman Ng Zi Yu, Lee said: “A million thanks to my business partner, Joanne. I think trust is a key ingredient in establishing a strong relationship in business. And I am glad that both of us are strongly committed to our business, although there are lots of ups and downs in this journey.”

Loh chipped in: “I do agree with Solomon that trust is a very important foundation for any partnership. Apart from trust, I believe that sharing the same values and vision is also a very important element in maintaining our strong partnership.”

Having started from scratch three decades ago, Intellect Group is poised to scale greater heights.

In a heartwarming gesture, Intellect Group made a significant donation of RM30,000 to Ru Yi Home, pooling contributions from its management, staff members and well-wishers.

Lee and Loh presented the mock cheque to Ru Yi Home’s representative Ang Meng How, with Chow as the witness on the stage. This act reflects their commitment to supporting the community.
