SOME 300 participants from various ages group took part in the three-day badminton tournament at the Kam Fook Badminton Academy in Farlim.
The International Invitation Badminton Challenge 2023, which started on Dec 20 and concluded on Dec 22, was organised by the Shang Wu Alumni Association and the Seri Relau Village Community Management Council (MPKK).
Ng Kam Fook, the coordinator at the Kam Fook Badminton Academy, said invitations were sent to countries like Thailand, China, and Singapore.
“This platform allows the badminton players, especially the younger ones, to showcase their talents.
“We are glad to see the participants seizing the opportunity to step up their challenge here.
“We hope they will return next year for a similar event,” he said when met during the prize-giving ceremony.
The tournament featured various categories, including Men’s Doubles Open, Men’s Singles Open, Under-13 Boys’ Doubles, Under-18 Girls’ Singles, Under-16 Boys’ Singles, Under-13 Boys’ Singles, and Under-11 Boys’ Singles.
Also present were Paya Terubong service centre coordinator Koid Teng Guan, and Shang Wu Alumni Association chairman Datuk Looi Toong Hong.
