Jagdeep chides Health Minister over high Covid-19 cases in the country

PENANG Local Government, Housing, Town and Country Planning Committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo has lambasted the Health Minister over the high Covid-19 cases in Malaysia recently.

“There were over 5,000 daily positive Covid-19 cases from Jan 29 to 31. Let me remind everyone that we had 117 cases last year before the first movement control order (MCO) was implemented.

“Now we are seeing over 5,000 new cases. We saw 4,214 new cases on Feb 1, but we should not be proud of such high numbers.

“The high figures are worrying! The Health Minister must answer the public. What is happening?” he questioned via Facebook Live today.

Jagdeep said should the minister is unable to answer, perhaps the Senior Minister for Security Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob could.

“Please consider and look at the number of Covid-19 cases before you make your decision.

“I believe many people would agree that health is more important than wealth,” he added.

Jagdeep also reminded the public to obey the standard operating procedures (SOPs) to curb the spread of infection.

“Stay safe and stay healthy,” he said.
