ARE you someone who practises recycling? If so, get ready to participate in the ‘I am EcoChamps!’ competition, jointly organised by the Penang Green Council (PGC) and Riiicycle Tech Sdn Bhd, a mobile app company.

Riiicycle Tech Sdn Bhd founder Chew Chin Huat said those interested in participating should register as Penang Green Citizens and download the Riicycle mobile app.

“With today’s launch of the ‘I am Ecochamps!’ competition, our goal is to translate recycling awareness into action.

“Riiicycle is keen on improving community recycling through the ‘infrastructure – knowledge engagement’ model.

“The model is carried out through building recycling stations, residential e-waste collection, and installing more than 40 e-waste bins across Penang.

“It is also done via collection campaigns at high-rise buildings,” Chew said during a press conference today.

Chew expressed hope for increased participation from high-rise buildings.

“Besides that, we have a ‘house to house’ campaign for landed houses.

“Upon registration, we will go around collecting recycling items every Saturday.
