AFTER more than 30 years of waiting, residents of Rifle Garden A and B in Padang Tembak were relieved and delighted as long-overdue road repairs were finally completed in their neighbourhood.

The road patching, costing RM121,300, was carried out under the Bukit Bendera parliamentary constituency initiative and covered both Rifle Garden A and B.

Speaking to the media, Bukit Bendera MP Syerleena Abd Rashid expressed her gratitude to all parties involved in making the upgrades possible.

“The works at Rifle Garden A cost RM86,150, while RM53,150 was spent on Rifle Garden B. We are committed to enhancing the well-being of our residents and hope they continue to thrive in a vibrant and safe environment,” she said.

Air Putih assemblyman Lim Guan Eng, who was present to witness the completion of the project lauded the initiative.

“With this road repair effort, residents can now enjoy a significantly better living environment,” he said, expressing his satisfaction with the efforts.

Karen Looi, chairman of the Management Corporation (MC) for Rifle Garden 2A, also voiced her appreciation to all those involved in the neighbourhood’s much-needed makeover.

Separately, Lim also commented on the impending implementation of the e-invoice system by the Inland Revenue Board (IRB), adding that the Finance Ministry is reviewing the move ahead of an announcement expected next month.

“I’ve raised my concerns and urged the ministry to exempt non-profit organisations from this requirement. At the same time, I called for a delay in implementation to ease the financial burden on businesses,” he said.

Lim added that the postponement is necessary given the current economic uncertainty, particularly in light of recent tariffs imposed by the United States.
