THE Bukit Jambul Shopping Complex (KBJ), or fondly known as BJ Complex, has attracted some 800 shoppers to its mall through the ‘KBJ Twenty Twenty Rewards’ programme.
According to the KBJ JMB chairman K.H Chan, the mall has received an overwhelming support for the programme from the state government.
In the one-month programme (Aug 30 – Sept 30), shoppers were rewarded cash vouchers of RM20 when they purchased items at KBJ via two ways.
One way was when they spent RM180 and above in three combined original receipts for fashion, bags, shoes, accessories, hair saloon, beauty and spa and food & beverages.
The other was when they spent RM380 and above in a single original receipt for mobile, computer, gadgets, textiles, jewellery, watches, optical and grocery outlets.
“It was our way of thanking our valued customers for supporting us all along and at the same time we wanted to increase their buying power.
“We had done our best with our publicity and are glad to be able to retain as many shoppers as we could.
“What matters the most to our tenants is the support from the state government through YB Datuk Abdul Halim’s office,’’ said Chan during the closing ceremony of the ‘KBJ Twenty Twenty Rewards’ programme held at KBJ on Nov 5.
Meanwhile, Abdul Halim said more than 300 local small and medium business owners at KBJ have profited from the programme.
“When you buy from KBJ, it means that you are supporting our local medium and small business owners, and by shopping local, you are helping the local economy in many ways as well as protecting jobs,” Abdul Halim said.
On a separate matter, Penang Lions Club International organising chairman Ooi Kok Pin announced that the ‘Diabetes Awareness Campaign 2020’ to be organised by their club at KBJ this month ahas been postponed to a later date.
“Due to the current situation, we have decided to reschedule the campaign which is supposed to take place on Nov 15.
“The health campaign would be providing free health screening for 200 residents in Bayan Lepas area, and it will cover mainly blood pressure check-up, blood glucose level check-up and cholesterol and cataract screening,’’ said Ooi during a press conference held on Nov 5.
