IN light of the Covid-19 pandemic, Batu Lancang assemblyman Ong Ah Teong has come out to donate two canopies, several fans and 100 chairs to the Jalan Perak Health Clinic.
He said the two canopies could provide shade for the people queueing up to have their swab tests taken.
“When they come to have their Covid-19 tests, they can at least have a proper and better place to seek shelter from the scorching hot sun and rain.
” “I hope this contribution could assist the clinic during this pandemic.
“Overall, the cost for the canopies, fans and 100 chairs is about RM7,000,” he said after inspecting the canopies at Jalan Perak Health Clinic.
Jelutong MP RSN Rayer, who was present, urged everyone to adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) to break the chain of infection.
“I sincerely respect the sacrifices of the frontliners in carrying out their duty professionally and efficiently.
“This contribution is a timely boost for them and people coming to the clinic,” said Rayer.
Northeast district health officer Datin Dr Azizah Ab. Manan said she appreciated the effort and generosity shown to the frontliners.
“I would like to reiterate that everyone should play their part and follow SOPs during this pandemic,” she said.
