RENOWNED two-time National Award winner and pioneer of Indian fusion music, Hariharan, is set to perform live for the first time in Penang on Dec 16!
The much-anticipated concert is organised by Hello Creative, a Penang-based event management company, and is scheduled to take place at the SETIA Spice Arena starting at 7pm.
The company’s founder and chief executive officer S. Sivamani said Penang is the perfect state to hold such a concert due to its exciting and popular tourist attraction spots and top-tier facilities in the northern region.
“There is a growing interest in the northern region lately, especially focusing on large-scale international and local musical concerts.
“As for Hariharan, he is not just an ordinary singer that’s known in India but his market outpours across the globe, and he has a huge fan base that admires his one-of-a-kind voice.
“Just a few days ago when he returned from a world tour, I spoke over the phone with him. He said that he’s very excited to perform in Penang and is ramping up his preparations to deliver an unforgettable musical experience for his fans here.
“This is also our (Hello Creative) first time organising a concert, and we look forward to a successful one with Hariharan as a lot of efforts are being made to materialise this programme,” Sivamani told Buletin Mutiara during an exclusive interview at the company’s office at Gurney Tower in George Town on Nov 23.
Hariharan has sung over 15,000 notable songs in 10 languages, including Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Sinhala, Bhojpuri, Odia, Gujarati, English and others.
Sivamani also said that the concert will feature several notable local artists, such as Mugen Rao, who rose to fame after winning the Bigg Boss 3 (Tamil) reality show in 2019.
