Lend a helping hand

WHEN life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile.

Life was harsh on three brothers and a sister who have lost their parents in just a year due to illnesses. It is learnt that the siblings lost their father last year and their mother this year.

The siblings Khor Khai Wen, 18, Khor Hui King, 16, Khor Khai Sheng, 12, Khor Khai Ming, eight, continued to strive for success despite the unforeseen incidents.

The children are now living with their relative.

The heart-breaking plight of the children was noticed by their schools and a tuition centre.

Air Itam assemblyman Joseph Ng said the Ocean Tuition Centre has agreed to provide free tuition classes for three of the siblings.

Khai Wen has completed his Form Five studies.

“The centre has agreed to transport the children from their respective schools to the tuition centre after school hours,” Ng said after attending the Children’s Day celebration in SJK(C) Chung Hwa Confucian A in Jalan Ibetson today.
