Lights of Lantern Shines at Kompleks Bukit Jambul

THE Mid-Autumn Festival which falls on September 24, is one of the most important festivals celebrated in Chinese culture, as the full moon is at its brightest and roundest on this day and perfectly symbolizes union.

This festival is never complete without the reunion of families and friends and Kompleks Bukit Jambul (KBJ) had taken this opportunity to celebrate it with the 3Q MRC Juniors and its customers.

Lots of fun activities held at Kompleks Bukit Jambul on the evening of September 22, feature a variety of entertainment programs such as the Mid-Autumn Costume Party, Kids Costume Design Contest, Lantern Riddle and Pomelo Fiesta.

Some 43 participants comprising children aged from three years to 12 years took part in Kids Costume Design Contest, where 10 winners were chosen. In all, everyone had a great time participating in the activities held at the Kompleks.

Meanwhile, the 10 winners for the Kids Costume Design Contest were Chaw Wen Xuan, Cheah Kun Xi, Christy Tan Yi Rou, Ooi Kai Xuan, Soon Shao Jie, Su Yong Hao, Vernie Tan Yi Xian, Sherman Lim Chun Yee, Yee Chen Kai and Voon Ching Nee.

Five judges comprised general manager of KBJ, Crystal Wong, Yheng Liau Yuen Si from Yhenz’s Events, Jessie Chong from iSmart Art Centre, Jason Min and Ng Seak Sin.

The highlight of the Mid-Autumn festival event was the spectacular Dragon Dance performance and Lion Dance performance. There was also a Lantern Parade. Each participant was given lantern and a pomelo to join in this parade which started from the Promenade Area at Kompleks Bukit Jambul.

Functions of this nature hoped to preserve our Malaysian culture and at the same time attract and expose tourists to the various festivals held in Malaysia.
