Local motorcycle dealer contributes two motorcycles to CERT George Town

THANKS to the generosity of Taycon Motor Sdn Bhd and an initiative by Air Itam assemblyman Joseph Ng, the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) George Town has managed to receive two SYM motorcycles today.

In a brief ceremony at one of the Taycon Motor’s branches in Datuk Keramat today, CERT George Town was delighted with the latest addition of two motorcycles. They now have a total of eight motorcycles, including the new ones.

Ng, who was present, said he was informed that CERT George Town needed the additional resources to provide swift assistance when emergency occurs.

Hence, after being approached, he was pleased that Taycon Motor had stepped forward to do their part by agreeing to contribute the motorcycles to CERT George Town.

“I would like to thank Taycon Motor for their assistance as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

“As far as I understand, Taycon Motor has also committed to providing a year of full servicing for the two motorcycles.

“It is a kind gesture from them and I hope this will assist the CERT George Town team to carry out their emergency assistance for the public in a smooth and proper manner,” he said.

CERT George Town chairman Ong Swee Jin also thanked Ng and Taycon Motor for assisting them.

“This will certainly help us a lot, especially when carrying out our duties,” he said.

Taycon Motor’s person in-charge Geh Zun Jie, was also pleased to be able to carry out their CSR initiative through this contribution.

“It is an honour for us to be able to provide a helping hand to CERT George Town,” he said.
