PROPERTY developer M Summit Group became the latest corporate company to assist the Penang government in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic.

The group has come forward to donate 20,000 face masks (3-ply) to the state government.

Its founder and managing director Datuk Albert Moh said the contribution is timely in view of the recent spike in Covid-19 cases in Penang.

“We know we are all in for an uphill battle but if everyone chips in, I believe the impossible can be possible.

“This is a crucial time for everyone to stand in solidarity and work towards a common goal which is to flatten the Covid-19 infection curve.

“The contribution of 20,000 face masks is also part of our corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts held in conjunction with our 20th anniversary next month.

“Out of respect for many suffering because of the pandemic, we want to mark our 20 years with meaningful efforts instead,” Albert said during a brief handover ceremony of the supplies in Komtar today.

He was accompanied by M Summit Group development planning manager Moh Wei Ren, M Summit 191 Executive Hotel Suites general manager Moh Wei Ken, M Summit Group managing director personal assistant Nurlina Anas and its corporate communications manager Ng Su-Ann.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, who received the supplies on behalf of the state, commended the company for its concerns over the well-being of Penangites.

“The state government would like to thank M Summit Group for the valuable contribution today as it is important to have an adequate supply of face masks especially during the rising cases of Covid-19 in Penang currently.

“The Penang government also hopes more companies will step forward to assist the state in our fight against the pandemic,” said Chow.

On a separate matter, hardware company Zingsway Hardware Trading Sdn Bhd has also come forward to make a contribution to Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan St Xavier (SXI) and to the state’s ‘E-Learning Computer Programme’.

Zingsway Hardware Trading was represented by its managing director Koay Yee Yong while SXI was represented by the school Parents and Teachers Association (PIBG) chairman Victor Tan.
